A lot of people are angry at Michael Vick about that dog thing. Kind of like they're mad at O.J. about the wife thing. Barry Bonds and steroid, along with Isaiah Washington and slurs. There's so much to be mad at, but the color of rage remains the same.
Something about this doesn't sit well with me. It all seems reminiscent to me of how whites feel / felt about blacks in America. I can't help feeling like, "If I have to protest, I would protest for better wages for these people and worker's rights. I'd protest for better working conditions, so others aren't undercut". I'd let law enforcement do what law enforcement does, but I would not protest against other poor people. It all seems like a stupid idea to me and works against the interest of the poor everywhere. We gotta get smarter about how we use our energies.
to: Leon Larry - SHAME ON YOU! The vast majority of the Hispanic immigrants are good hard-working people. Do not generalize them as criminals, just like it is not right to generalize Blacks in a negative way. Quit complaining and wasting people's time and go get a job yourself!

I am a longtime resident of Maryland and have been monitoring the so called "undocumented workers" here in Hyattsville Maryland. These illegal immigrates and gangs are allowed to gather at seven eleven on Kenilworth Ave and Jefferson Street in Hyattsville Maryland by the hundreds and I want to start confronting the issue with protest signs and want other alike minds to join me. Prince Georges county officials are aware of the problem but has done nothing. African American youths are reluctant to patronize stores where these people gather in fear of being harassed, especially young females. If African Americans don't standup and defend their neighborhoods no one will.
I think we need to stand in front of those areas where so called day laborers gather with signs that say "please go to the dept of labor if you're seeking a job" or "you are braking the law by loitering in front of stores, it time you leave the area"
A hundred people are needed for this protest and if you are down for your neigborhood please contact me at elaris@comcast.net so were can get organized.
