A lot of people are angry at Michael Vick about that dog thing. Kind of like they're mad at O.J. about the wife thing. Barry Bonds and steroid, along with Isaiah Washington and slurs. There's so much to be mad at, but the color of rage remains the same.
Watching the movie entitled, "Goodnight and Goodluck" (a movie that depicted the McCarthy years) when U.S. senator of Wisconsin; Joseph Raymond McCarthy was notorious for his sensational charges of communist subversion in high government circles as well as in Hollywood. There was a scene in the movie that stood out for me like a glaring Red Light just flashing like a strobelight. It was the scene where a Blackwoman was brought before the senate and questioned as to whether or not she was a communist. Taking in & processing this scene, I recalled how the U.S. spent billions of dollars fighting the "Cold War". We did it because, "It's the American ideal" and collectivist ideology is anti-american. I.E. "Collectivism is Evil". I sat there watching the scene of this Blackwoman being questioned and I kept hoping (in vain) to hear her say, " You bring me here because you believe that collectivism is wrong and that it is an Evil." Noted is your stated view that you believe this to be so. Yet, I am a blackwoman living in America and nothing is said about the tribalist collectivism(Racism) that I must face living here everyday. People are watching you and this nation and they see you. They see you reject collectivism with the one hand while you embrace it with the other. Without the financial tie (the billions that have already been spent) I can't help wondering that by not taking this approach to the issue of racism do we misargue our case?
