I watched you today on the Al Sharpton show as you took on the right wing, talk nut lady and I was cheering. I wanted to jump through the set and hug you and thank you.
I am a 65 year old retired teacher. I have been a democratic activist/supporter all my life. I believe in public education, in government there FOR citizens. I happen to live in Colorado Springs, CO, the home of that idiot congressman Doug Lamborn who used the "tar baby" words on Denver radio. I was incensed. I just wanted you to know that a bunch of us, mostly older, seniors like me although there were a couple of young ones there, went and protested in front of his office. We then went in to his office and even though he was not there, we let his aide have it. Many of us, including myself, did not hold back our anger and our disgust.
I, for one, am sick and tired of pundits playing nice with these right wing dolts and idiots. That lady, whatever her name is, has on more than one occasion said disparaging, nasty, miserable things about the president, about the former president Clinton, about many dems. And I for one am sick of the false equivalencies of pundits saying the "extremes" of both sides...yadayadayada. In my view, those of us on the left, those of us who have spent a lifetime fighting for civil rights for all, for a fair system in jobs, in education have been overly respectful to the racist, sexist bigoted right wing hate army. We have not been treated even fairly, let alone respectfully.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you so I googled you and found this e-mail addy. Keep up the good work.
