Yes.. Pointing out an obvious lie or untruth is rambling to some I suppose. So you are saying that Madison is the one who shouldn't be challenged right? God kows if he says it it must be the truth ya know.. hes on the radio after all.

I swear some of you have severe reading comprehension problems or you only see what you would like to see.

Ya know..if you want to call up and ramble...and not be challenged...C-Span has a show on Sunday mornings.  You can ramble, and rant.  They seldom interupt you.  Try that as an alternative.

tcc473 is right. If you think Joe doesn't give you voice when you disagree, don't listen. If enough listeners disagree with the way he runs his show, he won't have a show anymore. However if you continue to listen and come to his forum and complain, what outcome exactly are you hoping for?

When I deal with formats I feel I will never get a chance to express my position fairly, I stop participating. That's not complicated, and believe me, not that hard. If you think his listeners are drinking "Kool Aid", then let them. What do you care? Get on with your superior knowledge and life, and leave them be. Or do you think your condescension and insults are going to endear them to your point?

And just to clarify, I am not debating the format of Joe's show, I am just trying to understand why you would make yourself concerned over something you have a god given right to simply ignore.

Many used to say the same thing about racism.. just ignore it and it will go away or don't pay them any attention and it will all go away.

That really worked ourt well didn't it.

I really just come here to poke a stick into the mud on a spare moment so don't worry I have no interest anymore in what he or they think =)...  all 3 or 4 of them   lol

Stop Calling? LOL  So This: "I suppose to some entertainment and spice takes precedence over quality of information." is all that matters to you people. Hold your fist high and keep on drinking the Kool Aid.

The Madison show is not a public service program.  It is his show and he has the right to control the tempo and mix of conversation.  If you are so intent on what you think is your right to express your opinion - send a letter to your local newspaper.

So Maddison and the good time gang would be a better choice of title then...  maybe some applaud and amen loops would do nicely as well.

What...what in the heck is your point?   Make no mistake...Joe Madison's show is an entertainment and a political discussion forum.  He does both.  I listen to him every morning and can tell when he is trying to fire things up...that makes it entertaining....and then some very interesting things come forth...that makes it informative.  Understand what it is about...and finally...again...in 2 sentences or less...what the heck is your point?

The point is that as long as you are in agreeance with Madison you have uninterrupted time.. If you challenge Joe on something and he cant logically defend his point he rambles over you and diverts the conversation by picking some irrelevant point or just simply laughs and takes the next sheep in line. I suppose to some entertainment and spice takes precedence over quality of information.

Joe, a year ago my partner at work, Richard in San Antonio, introduced me to your show. I admit I didn't really want to hear it and I very much disagreed with your veiws. However I am a student at TLU, and I needed a different perspective for Cultural History (besides the driver rules the radio & Richard owned it at 5 am central). Well that class is over and I'm still listening even though I take over at 6, because I discovered a wealth of information about our country (past & present) different from my own understanding. At Richard's goading I've even called infrequently. I imagined that a show such as yours desired a differing opinion; that it adds spice to the conversation, and keeps the show from becoming an agenda driven preaching to the choir such as Shawn Hannity & Rush Limbaugh. I've always tried to state my veiws honestly, even if it wasn't the popular veiwpoint. At the University the classroom rule is that any student may state their case as long as they are concise and logical in their arguement. Rude interruption and name calling is not allowed.  you know that the caller is untrained in debate, and is usually nervous, so you are are aware that one talk show technique is to breakup the callers train of thought thereby giving the appearance that the caller is incoherent.
Joe, we (callers) invest in your show sometimes 30+ cellphone minutes, only to be cut off before they get 5 words out of their mouth. I find classes where all the students are seemingly in agreement with the professor to be BORING! I say seemingly because many students do disagree, but they fear looking stupid, or fear reprocussion by a biased professor. I thought like university, talk shows should be a freezone where differing veiws can meet peacefully to gain a greater understanding of the issues, and our neighbor. Your intro says you agree, and you also say that your listeners shouldn't allow anyone to undervalue, underestimate, or marginalize them; does that also apply to those you disagree with? Lastly, when I call I'm trying to add my perspective to the conversation for you and your listeners to agree/disagree with; not just trying to win an arguement. I understand if a caller is running on incoherrently; you have time constraints. If that is what you think I'm doing fine. Was I? But if you simply disagree well are you simply pushing an agenda?  I'm happy to continue to add my point of veiw to your discussions as long as I'm given a minimum of respect. If not you can sing amonst yourselves until 6. Joe it's your classroom.
