Too many blacks are still waiting for a great handout that they think they are owed, they don't want to work for anything when they can squeeze by as a victim of oppression and live a pathetic meager ghetto fabulous existence on public assistance programs as a way of life. Too many worry about having a closet full of the latest fads in cloths, cars, etc.. while leaving nothing for savings and actually getting a home that they don't have to pay someone else rent for. Democrats have been promising a brighter future for blacks for decades and fail to deliver and the blacks just continue to vote in their demise. The truth that they refuse to see is that your own success is not obtainable by votes. It is by personal hard work and sacrifice no matter who is in the white house. Every successful black person I have seen has gotten everything they have on their own merit regardless of what party local or national was in power. The largest threat of oppression and poverty comes from the blacks themselves.

Obama is spending us into a blind state of uncontrolled debt.  Hope, you say.  What about transparency.  He has not been true to his word.  What about fairness of the law.  His leadership at the US Attorney General's office allowed thugs who intimidated people on Election Day to get away with it.  You say he is smart; I do believe he is an intelligent man.  But not a wise man, he is blinded by his ideology that seems to be well based in the Chicago way.  How about the decision to try terrorist in NY?  It is all about politics of destruction.  Obama and his ideologs are hell bent on doing what the media did a pretty good job at - defaming President Bush.  I pray his decision will not result in a stirring of hate by the radical terrorist of the world.

I'll give you one thing that the Republicans did to help minorities - Welfare Reform.  Yeah, Clinton signed it but Republicans pushed it.  I have seen first hand where blacks who desired to lift themselves up were able to do so by taking advantage of job training initiatives made a reality by welfare reform.  The Republican platform is about less government and more private inovativeness.  Yeah I agree there too many self serving politicians both Republicans and Democrats in DC.  But what is better, a party (dems) who only serve to hold down (not intentionally, I think) the black race or a party that gives a man a chance to be creative, innovative and successful if he works hard.  If you disagree, then give me an answer to the following question.  Why are so many Asians able to come here, work hard and create successful businesses?  I see the same with Hispanics.  What blacks need is someone willing to break the cycle, someone to deal with the high number of children without a father (not simply trying to supplant with father like figures).

So keep supporting the liberal left Dems like Obama and see what you get.  Greater debt, token handouts for blacks that keep them in the horrible poverty cycle and anything but the transparency promised during the election!  To say there is not an opportunity for blacks in this country is bull!  Education is free for those willing to take advantage of it.  My father (yes a white man) was the oldest of six when his father died during the depression.  Not even a teenager, he became the head of a poverty stricken house hold.  He managed to finish high school, go to college and earn an MBA from one of best colleges in the country.  Not to mention, he served our country in WWII.  So dont tell me opportunity is not available.  Also, dont tell me even in this economy it is tougher than what my father had to deal with.  The key was that he had the desire and support/encouragement of family and friends.

The economy, unemployment and 2 wars ain't Obama's fault.  They may now be his responsibility, but he did not cause these calamities.  I will grant that the democratic party has a lock on black votes, and they get little in return.  But it is in part because Republicans offer absolutely no alternative.  I find most politicians to be simply liars and egomaniacs.  I seldom vote - because it is a choice of bad vs worse.  I have no interest in contributing given the choices.  But....Obama seems to have far more potential than any President since Nixon (yep, I thought he was a good one).  It's only been one year of Obama's term.  In 3 more years you voters will have another chance.  Perhaps you will have an alternative that will appeal to you.  Like Palin....you betcha.

" So what have these "different" dems done for minorities today. "
Created a vote farm like mindless cattle, they promise a load of handouts then push a few crumbs off of the table for them and then repeat over and over. They are called useful idiots.

So what have these "different" dems done for minorities today.  The dems have controlled congress for the past 3+ years.  The Dems have both houses of congress and the white house and unemployment is at the highest level since the Jimmy Carter's (democrat) watch.  Unemployment for blacks is the highest of all people groups.  Murder rates are the highest among the black race.  Black on black crime is the highest of any.  The drop out rate among blacks is the highest.  The failure rate in high schools is the highest amoung blacks.  So I ask again, what have the "modern Democrats" done for the blacks.  All they do is hold out a token hand out to keep you guys coming to the polls to support them.  This ain't Rush talk, this is reality.  So if the blacks want to keep buying the democrat party line "we are here to help", I put my money on the continued dismal statistics noted above.  I truly hope and pray the black race will realize that big government (what the democrats want) is not their solution to success.

P.S. You can say what you want about Lincoln, but he cared about people and was not a self serving politician like most today (democrats and republicans)

It little clarity around history.  The Democrats of the 1960's are not remotely the same as the Democrats of today.  As for the Republicans - they are generally wackier today than they were in the 1960's.  And I won't even go into the Lincoln thing.  That was far more about economics than it was about freedom or equal rights.  Read history not propaganda or Rush Limbaugh's version of history.

Joe always bashes Republicans and supports Democrats.  He always claims Reps are against the cause of minorities while the Dems are the supporters of the minorities.

Lesson no. 1 - A Republic, Abraham Lincoln, set in motion the first great act standing for minorities as he stood against the wrongness of slavery.

Lesson no. 2 - More democrats (4 times as many) than republicans stood against the civil rights legislation that granted equal rights to minorities (blacks) to include prominent Democrats Robert Byrd and Al Gore Sr.  Byrd led a filibuster to prevent vote on the historic act.

So listeners beware of those wolves in sheep skins to include Joe and Democrats who claim to have the best interest of minorities in mind.
